Coming soon: Real estate website functionality case study

I've been working on a case study of real estate company websites as Delta Media Group evaluates some of the more recent updates in the Web 2.0 world and how we can best address those for the real estate brokerages and agents we provide services to.

I have evaluated several high-ranking real estate websites built by other real estate website developers, and was surprised to find what I have. And, to be honest, the results did not impress me the way I expected.

That report will be coming soon, and I'm debating releasing it in a multi-blog entry format. It's quite long as is. The intent is not to name brokerages or real estate company website developers, but more to find useful pointers to help other real estate brokerages best build their real estate website and lead management systems to maximize return on investment in today's real estate market. The information should help your brokerage whether you're working with Delta Media Group or another real estate website developer that suits your needs.

Check Sean Cutright's blog for more information soon.

Another picture from Delta Media Group's new headquarters

Alright, ONE more picture....

This is looking out the front middle window of Delta Media Group's new headquarters from the second floor atrium. Sorry for the traffic passing in front...it's kind of a busy road. Check out the skylight and inverse lighting. Wait until you see the conference rooms and work stations...

First picture of Delta Media Group's new headquarters

OK, I'm not sure if I'm really allowed to do this yet, but I snapped a picture of Delta Media Group's new headquarters yesterday. We'll be moving over there shortly, so here's a pic - the first released on this blog...

What do you think??? We're moving in this afternoon, so I might be able to snag some better pics then, but that's good for starters.

Real estate website leads increased by 40 percent in first quarter

I was taking a look at Delta Media Group's April newsletter, and came across some interesting info that's worth sharing.

On the right side of the newsletter is a note from Mike Minard, Delta Media Group's president. He mentions some adjustments we have made on the real estate company website of one of the brokerages we work with. These changes have increased the brokerage's leads nearly 40 percent in the first quarter of 2009.

The real estate brokerage does more business through their real estate website than any of their dozen offices (How's that for a reason to migrate toward virtual offices opposed to brick and mortar?!).

There are a couple more things I should note here. First, the brokerage already had a tremendous amount of lead activity on their real estate website. Second, these adjustments will soon be available to all Delta Media Group customers.

More details will come soon, and I know Mike will be highlighting these through Delta Media Group's Broker Advisory Committee meetings. Contact me if you'd like more info in the meantime.

Blogging from the Delta Media Group Broker Advisory Committee

A few quick notes from the on-going Delta Media Group Broker Advisory Committee meeting:

  • Delta Media Group president Mike Minard is discussing a lot of great new ideas to come. Many, I'm not even familiar with and we work 20 feet apart from one another! I can't say much, but I can tell you this is some really cool stuff for the real estate industry. I've been to basically all of the major real estate conferences. I've seen the top innovations out there. These go beyond that.

  • Some ongoing discussions include Craigslist syndication. This seems to be a regional trend. Some areas in the country thrive from it. Others haven't seen any consumer demand for it. Craigslist does not allow for fully automated listing syndication, which slightly complicates the process. There are still easier ways to syndicate listings than a full, manual post. We will be addressing this in the near future.

  • Mike just discussed several new agent tools under development. These will be released in detail soon. They include to-do lists, system activity lists, an agent dashboard, and more. I can't discuss details on the methodology behind these, but they are aimed to significantly boost agent-to-consumer communication/feedback/interaction, and should result in huge growth in ROI.
More details to come from the Delta Media Group Broker Advisory Committee. Contact Sean Cutright for more details.

Enhancing your real estate website with Web apps

I always like to share new real estate website strategies when I come across them.

One such example is Wayne F. Smith's Weidel REALTORS agent website: www.waynefsmith.com.

Wayne, a Delta Media Group client, utilized free widgets from Trulia and Zillow to enhance his Web presence, and provide real estate consumers in Hunterdon and Somerset, New Jersey detailed reports on home values and average listing prices in the region. Wayne also added an HTML link back to his Trulia page, focused on Hunterdon County and New Hope, New Jersey real estate.

Wayne F. Smith works in Hunterdon County, Somerset County, Mercer County, Warren County, Burlington County, and Bucks County, New Jersey real estate. He has done a very good job of establishing himself as a real estate market specialist in those areas through multiple online mediums.

Visit Wayne F. Smith online to view his enhancecd real estate website, or to search homes in Hunterdon, New Jersey and surrounding New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania regions.
